We offer classes to determine if a parrot will be a good fit in your family and if so, what breed of parrot would be best for your family. Education is the number one thing that most first time parrot owners fail to endeavor in. Consequently the birds are who suffer due to this, as their needs and requirements are not being met. Adding a parrot to your family is like adding a 2-3 year old child to your home, with the only difference that this child will not grow up and leave. The bird will most likely outlive you (if you adopted a baby bird). Are you ready to have a 2-3 year old “child” FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? Bird’s are extremely intelligent and require a lot of work, dedication and time from their caregivers to be a truly happy and healthy bird. Due to people’s lack of education before running out and purchasing a bird, most birds on average have 10-12 homes in their lifetime. This fact alone affects the bird in drastic negative ways. Parrots are monogamous creatures, and once they bond with whom they choose to bond with they are committed for life. Will YOU be committed to them for LIFE?? So please, do your homework about parrots before you make that number one mistake so many people make – running out and IMPULSE BUYING. Just as a happy bird can make your life wonderful and exciting, an unhappy bird can start bad habits such as feather plucking and self mutilation. They can also make YOUR life miserable through their unhappiness (we will touch on this another time).

It is such a rewarding experience for us when we share at retirement homes. Believe it or not retirement homes are one of our biggest customers!
Maybe you have a child with a birthday party coming up and would enjoy adding some colorful, playful, and exciting parrots. Kids of ALL ages love to have our birds around. Don’t be surprised if unexpected guests stick around when they hear about you adding parrots to your party. The parrots are truly a great way to entertain whether its a child’s birthday, or maybe even Mom or Dad’s.
